Fantastic lamp with one minor downside…
I was looking for something simple to decorate and illuminate my small bedroom.I spent a good half hour browsing through a multitude of lamps on Amazon, reading one review after another. My criteria was for a modern lamp, that was inexpensive, yet didn’t look “cheap.”I came upon this lamp by Elegant Designs. The reviews seemed quite favorable, so I took the chance on ordering two lamps with the idea that if I didn’t like them, I could return them with Amazon’s liberal return policy.Both lamps arrived well packaged in their own individual boxes. Thick styrofoam keeps the lamps secured in the box so that they don’t get knocked around in transit.The lampshade is also well protected with plastic outer wrapping. Both lamps arrived in perfect condition.Both lamps I purchased were with the black leather look. While the base isn’t made of real leather, I must say that it looks like the real thing and anyone not knowing any better would not be able to tell the difference.I was able to unwrap and install both lamps on my bedroom dresser within 10 minutes. I used a Philips A19 Hue Bulb (Echo/Dot controlled), and it fit perfectly.And, no, the shades aren’t different colors. They match perfectly. I saw a negative review about the lamp shades here on Amazon and I wanted to reaffirm that if you buy more than one of these lamps, the shades match perfectly.Now here is the downside to the lamp…The shade rests upon the bulb itself instead of being integrated into the lamp fixture. This may or may not be a deal breaker for some. If the lamp is going to sit in a quiet bedroom, I don’t see any reason why the shade won’t remain balanced. However, if it is being put in a high traffic area where someone can cause vibrations near it, I can see the lamp shade becoming unbalanced. Really, I don’t understand why this company did such an awful job integrating their shade like this.NOTE: A reader of this review was kind enough to note that you can get this shade to fit into the stem of the lamp, rather than balance it. However, it does mean turning the shade upside down and inserting it into the stem prior to screwing in the bulb. This method does work, though the shade sinks somewhat into the stem. Whether this was the intent of the manufacturer is unknown, as there are no included instructions with this lamp. However, using this method, you can permanently install the top shade rather than balance it.Finally, be aware that the switch for the light is on the cord. You will have to reach down to turn the lamp on and off. If you are using home automated lighting like I am, this won’t be an issue at all.Still, for what my criteria demanded, this lamp by Elegant Designs perfectly fills the bill. It’s an inexpensive table lamp that doesn’t look “cheap.” I think that is something that will appeal to many people.Highly Recommended!

Beautiful lamps great value
these lamps are great. They are really good size, not tiny little dinky things,and they provide a sufficient amount of light. They’re a great value for the money and I would happily by more of them if and when I get to that point of decorating other areas. The assembly is really easy. Really all you do is take the lampshade put it over the fixture and then screw the bulb in over the top so it basically locks the lamp shade in between the bulb and the fixture. I have mine connected to Philips Hue Lights and I control it via wireless switch and my Google home. I normally voice command it but I like having the switch there just in case.the only thing that I really didn’t care for too much is that it has the weird rocker style switch built into the cord. I can see for some people depending on where they place it or how they set up the lamps, that that might not be a very convenient location for the switch. but since I use Google home and Hue Lights I only ever had to turn them on once and they’re controlled by other devices so I never have to physically turn the lamps off at the source. As this was not a deal-breaker for me and it works for my situation I’m still going to give it five stars despite the weird unfavorable power option. Totally buying more once I move on to another area of the house

No regrets at all
These lamps are absolutely beautiful! They are better than I imagined. Just remember, they are more bedside height. Not very tall. But stunning for sure.

Nice Looking and Cheap
For the price of these lamps, they are a pretty good value.They look pretty nice and match up in terms of color between the two white ones I purchased.The lamps included a clear power cord. I wish the wire was a little bit longer though, I would have liked a couple more feet.The base feels pretty sturdy and have no problem with it. It has a decent weight to it.As for the shade, it’s a very fragile piece. It can dent VERY easily, so please be careful with it. When it dents, I was not able to get rid of the dent in it. I had to turn the shade around, so the dent is not visible. I am not sure if it came dented, or if it somehow dented when unwrapping. If you turn the shade around, you’ll be stuck with a little dark ‘bar’ down the side from where the shade comes back around, when the light is turned on.Please ensure that you have the shade placed correctly. I saw a few people incorrectly using the shade. If your shade does not look like the product photo(too low), then you likely have the shade placed incorrectly. Flip the shade upside down in this case so it properly sits.I’d recommend this lamp to anyone looking for a decent looking and cheap lamp. I was originally going to purchase a different Ikea lamp, but it wasn’t in stock. I was not let down by this lamp when I had to substitute it in.

Without a step down transformer that costs upwards of 2k, this lamp will burn your house down. It is a safety hazard. The buyer has not said that it is 110 volt lamp and doesent work in india. Imported from USA it is notthe best option. AVOID

Me gusta y se ve genial pero no me gusta que la tela de arriba no tenga un tornillo que la sujete o algo así porque en ocaciones se mueve y se ve chueca. Pero por todo lo demás se ve de excelente calidad y muy vistosa.Actualizacion: 5 años con la lampara de mesa y aun continua funcionando. Y se encuentra en excelentes condiciones
